Typinator is a software that helps you typing faster with less errors. Therefore Typinator uses abbreviations which expand to predefined (user defined and downloadable ones) to a longer form.
Just type an abbreviation and Typinator automatically replaces the abbreviation with the long-form of the snippet! Here’s a little feature round-up (Taken from Ergonis’ web site!):

   Die Erweiterungen mit den Snippet Sets ist super. Wörterbücher können angepasst werden, Text Expansion ist auch sehr wichtig und man kann richtig kreativ werden. Wer fit in LateX ist, kann so zum Beispiel aus /sqrt einfach das hier erzeugen lassen und so in jedem Programm verwenden: √. Auch Texte aus der Zwischenablage können eingefügt werden: z.B: aus Expansion in der Zwischenablage und [[b.. wird [b]Expansion[/b] durch die Ersetzung von [[b.. durch [b]{clip}[/b] und aus [[b und leerzeichen wird [b][/b] und der Cursor ist direkt in der Mitte mit [b]{^}[/b] . Spart schon nen Haufen Zeit das ganze ;)

   Hi,

   ich finde an der App am besten, dass man Präfixe und Suffixe einsetzen kann. z.b. kann man dann für verschiedene Sprachen verschiedene Präfixe haben, in etwa # für BBCode und + für HTML. Insgesamt mag ich solche Apps recht gerne, die sparen einfach verdammt viel Zeit.

   Hatte schonmal mit TextExpander geliebäugelt, aber die Snippet-Erweiterung ist echt noch mal besser…

   Würd mich sehr freuen, wenn ich ne Lizenz gewinnen würde.

   Hey Guys, PLEASE read the info in the posting. In order to win you have to write about your favourite Typinator feature. Don’t get me wrong. We really like to giveaway those licenses, but this way we can get rid of the people just posting because they want to get a license for doing nothing.

   Also, was mir sehr gut gefällt sind die bereits integrierten Snippet Sets und die relativ aufgeräumte Optik. Das Programm macht wirklich das, was es auch verspricht.

   Was mir jedoch noch komplett fehlt, ist eine komfortable Synchronisationsmöglichkeit mit MobileMe wie etwa bei TextExpander. Der Entwickler meint dazu, es würde demnächst integriert werden. Leider über eine manuelle Pfadangabe zur iDisk. Mir wäre ein Knöpfchen da lieber. Natürlich hat es aber den Vorteil, dass auch Nutzer der Dropbox die Sets syncen können werden.

   Moin,

   ich finde einfach das Snippets allgemein sehr nützlich sind und so oft wie es geht genutzt werden sollten, da es einfach verdammt viel Zeit kostet.Und genau das macht Typinator richtig.Deswegen werde ich es mir auch mal anschauen und gucken wie ich es optimal in meinen Workflow einsetzen könnte.Vielleicht gewinne ich ja auch eine Lizenz ;-)

   Ich denke, ich würde vor allem die Symbolfunktionen nutzen. Ständig die Sonderzeichenpalette einzublenden finde ich einfach nervig, nur um mal eben einen Pfeil oder eine Tilde in den Text zu bekommen. Aber auch die Clipboard-Funktion finde ich sehr interessant.

    Für mich ist ein ehr wichtiges Feature die Möglichkeit, verschiedene Snippets ja nach Bedarf an- und auszuschalten. Außerdem natürlich Dropbox Support in der neusten Version. Allerdings ist meine jetzige Lizenz dafür nicht freigeschaltet … ;-)

    An Typinator finde ich besonders gut das ich die Set´s einzelnen Applications zuordnen kann. Somit können identische Abkürzungen unterschiedliche bedeutungen haben.
