I had the opportunity to test a beta version that supports regular expressions. That way Automaton solves the Two Caps problem for me.

KAUFBEFEHL!!!

I just tried it. I copied the AppleScripts for tiny urls over from TextExpander and it works.
Thanks a lot.

Hi, this is the developer. I'm having a look in to see what's going on here.

I see that someone is saying that TextExpander has the Applescript feature, and Automaton doesn't. Well we can't have that! So I did a bit of work today and released Automaton / AutoTyper 1.21 which contains the same scripting abilities of TextExpander. See the documentation for details.

Yes, it has the same drawbacks as "the others".
The developer is quite nice and answers usually pretty quickly (in my case). Maybe he's interested in implementing that feature? ;)

Great! So AutoFiler can replace Hazel for me. Regarding the harmful interactions: Yes, I meant TextExpander and AutoTyper. I know I can use Snow Leopard expansion, TextExpander and Typinator in parallel, I just don't know, which one takes precedence when all use the same shortcut to expand. I guess AutoTyper works I a very similar way, so it has the same advantages and backdraws as "the others".

You mean AutoTyper and TextExpander?! No, just turn off AutoTyper in the preferences and leave everything else running.

AutoFiler DOES Appdelete. Just activate the "trash example rules" :)

I like Autofiler best. It does a bit more than Hazel (except Appdelete). Autotyper is nice too, but I like the AppleScript capability of TextExpander, so it can convert tinyurls for me. Do these two apps interfere in any harmful way?
Over at MuPromo you can get Automaton for $19,95.
